Kennedy Allen is an award-winning artist who is intrigued by how the world is perceived through the eyes of others, including children. Her whimsical illustrations for children’s books reflect a world of vivid imagination, where rich colors fill the page and bring each story to life.
Kennedy’s gift was discovered early in life. She was just 8 years old when her artwork was first publicly recognized and featured in The Huntsville Times, the regional newspaper near her Alabama home.
At age 17, she entered Alabama’s District 4 Congressional Art Competition, and was awarded first place for Mixed Media. The following year she was awarded second place in the Painting category.
In 2023, Kennedy collaborated with a promising young writer — her cousin Haley Watson — to create illustrations for Horus the Friendly Pumpkin Finds a Family, which is available for purchase through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Books-a-Million.
A partnership was born! Kennedy has also illustrated Peppermint Path Animal Shelter: A Christmas Story and several additional books which are scheduled for release in 2024.
Kennedy studied art at the University of Alabama, where she received her BA in Arts in Communication. While there, she developed an appreciation for Italian Renaissance works depicting the life and legacy of Jesus.
In addition to illustrating children’s books, Kennedy has a passion for portraiture and landscape paintings, spending time with her family, and finding opportunities to share God’s love for people, with people.
Kennedy is illustrator of:
